Cant Upload to a Datastore File Operation Failed From Vsphere Desktop Client
Cannot transport a file to ESXi Datastore using vSphere Web Customer
Howdy,Yesterday I tried to send an ISO file to ESXi server and I got below error:The functioning failed for an undetermined reason. Typically this problem occurs due to certificates that the browser does not trust. If you are using self-signed or custom certificates, open the URL beneath in a new browser tab and accept the certificate, and then retry the operation. https:/
Hi to all,
Love Rod-Information technology, Thanks for your efforts and time.
My problem has been solved past removing AV. Disabling AV services couldn't solve this issue, therefore I was forced to uninstall it from the machine.
Thanks

It looks like you lot are uploading to an NFS share, possibly a NAS, if so enable CIFS/SMB and re-create it using windows directly to the NAS

Howdy there,
I'thou not sure of the effectively details of your setup, but promise this helps. I sometimes come across problems with uploading to VMWare Datastores, so I've taken to, where possible, uploading using an SCP Client (for case, WinSCP). The issues I mostly see is the speed of upload for large ISOs. Uploading using an SCP client is so much faster and more than reliable.
You lot have to enable SSH access on the VMWare ESXi, and of course, information technology is wise to switch off SSH access afterwards. I've pasted in some useful links below rather than reinventing the bike.
Overall ready of steps:
- Enable SSH (either through the ESXi host settings, or from the console of the ESXi host)
- Download an SCP client
- Connect to the VMWare ESXi host/datastore
- Upload the ISO
- Switch off/disable SSH over again
https://graspingtech.com/connect-esxi-six-5-host-using-ssh-windows/
https://graspingtech.com/transfer-files-vmware-esxi-6-v-host/
Promise it helps. Quick tip, pay close attention to the path that you're uploading to, existence sure to follow the guidance and get the ISO in to the right location.

Had the same problem, your using html5, login using the non html5 option, thinks information technology's using wink... html5 not 100% yet...

SSH and SCP are only required for uploads to local host, the OP seemed to exist uploading to a remote datastore, over NFS (which for some reason they have now revoked).
They also provided two IP addresses, one of which I assume is the host, the other the IP for the storage, just with things unclear and the OP coming back to edit their post and remove the screenshots, but not update us, nosotros accept but to wait for more than information.

Had the same trouble, your using html5, login using the not html5 option, thinks it'south using flash... html5 not 100% yet...
To be clear, in what version did y'all take problems?
non-HTML5 is called flex, formerly flash customer.

I'm going to be taking a different approach, since you likewise accept the other thread well-nigh Advert Controllers...
Cheque DNS first, equally others have suggested in both threads, simply also check the health of your physical network; notably your switches. You might have a network error acquired by cabling, hardware or firmware. This could explain both bug.

Rod-IT, thanks for the actress info. I thought I must exist missing something where y'all made reference to the 2 IPs and NFS, but if the OP has edited it and i didn't see the original full mail, that makes sense. Give thanks you lot for that

Hi to all,
Dear Rod-Information technology, Thanks for your efforts and time.
My problem has been solved by removing AV. Disabling AV services couldn't solve this issue, therefore I was forced to uninstall information technology from the auto.

That makes no sense at all.
You never mentioned AV at the start, nor did you respond any questions asked, so how are people supposed to aid y'all if we dont know the details.
For what it's worth though, you dont get whatever points for awarding yourself best answer.

I encountered this in our vsphere environment, and to fix information technology I opened the esxi hosts webpage that the mistake referenced, and accepted the certificate alarm that Chrome/Firefox presented, went back to vsphere and it worked

I have had this mistake before (vCenter / ESX half dozen.5) and had to connect directly to a host to upload a file to a datasore when i was unable to upload to the same storage via vCenter.

I take seen this before also. If yous do not take a proper security certificate on your hypervisors, and you try to upload a file through vCenter, the process fails due to the invalid document. One piece of work around, normally works, is to browse direct to the hypervisor, get the invalid certificate warning, and go along to the hypervisor. Once this is done, retry uploading your file through vCenter.
